Another Layer of Home
Updated: Sep 1
Why adding real estate felt like a natural extension of everything I already love about homes.

If there’s one thing that has become pretty clear about my life, it’s that I really, really love houses.
I love walking into a home and immediately imagining what it could become. I love looking at a floor plan and thinking about how a family might actually live there. I love the building process, the selections, the furniture, and those final little details that make a house finally feel like home.
So somewhere along the way, getting my real estate license started to feel like a pretty natural next step.
Not because I wanted to step away from interior design—but because I wanted to understand and be part of another piece of the process.
Seeing the Potential
I think working in design has completely changed the way I look at a house.
I can walk into a room with the wrong paint color, furniture that doesn’t fit, dated lighting, or finishes that aren’t necessarily my style and still see what could be there.
Sometimes a home doesn’t need a complete renovation. It needs a different furniture layout. A larger rug. New lighting. Fresh paint. Maybe the kitchen has great bones hiding underneath selections that simply aren’t speaking to you yet.
Being able to look beyond what’s currently there and imagine what a home could become is one of my favorite parts of design—and something I’m excited to bring into real estate, too.
Understanding the House Beyond the Listing
Being married to a builder has added another layer to the way I see homes.
Over the years, I’ve watched houses go from an empty lot to framing to a finished home. I’ve learned to pay attention to floor plans, construction details, functionality, and all of those decisions happening behind the pretty pictures.
Now, between building, design, and real estate, I get to look at a home from a few different perspectives.
And I think that’s pretty special.
Home Is Personal
Buying or selling a home is so much more than a transaction.
It’s deciding where you’re going to wake up every morning. Where your kids might grow up. Where everyone will gather for holidays. Where you’ll drink your coffee, host your friends, celebrate milestones, and live a whole lot of ordinary Tuesdays.
I don’t take that lightly.
Whether someone is searching for the right house or getting ready to say goodbye to one they’ve loved, I want the experience to feel personal, thoughtful, and exciting.
A New Chapter
House of Bigger will always be rooted in creating beautiful, thoughtful homes.
Adding real estate doesn’t change that—it simply gives me another opportunity to be part of the story, sometimes before the home is even yours.
Because whether we’re building it, designing it, refreshing it, buying it, or selling it, I’ve realized that the common thread has always been the same.
I just really love helping people find—and create—a place that feels like home.
Thinking About Buying or Selling?
I’d love to be part of that chapter, too. Whether you’re searching for a home with potential, preparing yours for the market, or simply wondering where to begin, I’d be happy to connect.
