A little look behind the heart of House of Bigger—where a love for thoughtful interiors, life alongside a builder, and deep roots in Alexandria, Minnesota all come together.

House of Bigger has been a long time coming.

I was born and raised in Alexandria, Minnesota, and home has always meant a little more to me than simply where you live. Maybe it comes from growing up in a small lake town, but I’ve always loved the feeling of a home—the spaces where people gather, the details that tell a story, and the way a beautiful room can still feel completely comfortable and lived in.

My love for interiors eventually became my career, and over the years, design has found its way into nearly every part of my life. I’m also married to a builder, which means design and construction quite literally come home with us. I’ve had the opportunity to experience the building process hand in hand with my husband—from looking at a set of plans and walking through framing to selecting cabinetry, finishes, lighting, furnishings, and all of those little details that finally make a house feel like home.

Seeing both sides of the process has shaped so much of the way I approach design.

I believe the best homes aren’t simply beautiful. They work for the people who live in them. They’re thoughtful without feeling precious, elevated without being unlivable, and collected in a way that feels personal rather than perfect.

And that is really where House of Bigger began.

I created House of Bigger as a place to bring together everything I love about home—interior design, building, beautiful details, and real everyday living. It’s an opportunity to help others create spaces that feel intentional and timeless, but most importantly, feel like them.

And now, I get to share a little more of that here.

The Journal will be a peek behind the finished spaces—projects we’re working on, decisions behind the designs, lessons from the building process, favorite finds, before-and-afters, and probably a few things we learn along the way.

Consider this my little corner of the internet for all things home.

I’m so glad you’re here.

Welcome to House of Bigger.
